Dear Mr. Jolicoeur

This letter is to inform you that we recently read the draft propossal by the FQAS,  on  the ACT RESPECTING SAFETY IN SPORTS R.S.Q., c. S-3.1 and were suprised that IANTD was not listed as one of the recognized training agencies other than in cave diving.

We have not received any request from the FQAS in regard to standards etc so have attached a copy of our current standards and would be happy to supply anyother materials that may be needed to have IANTD recognized in this code of practice.

As you know IANTD (coporate name IAND) was formed in 1985 and has been a recognized training agency worldwide since that time. We actually have liceensses in more than 20 countries internationally representing in excess of 84 countries where IANTD is active and recognized as a training agency. In fact we have been active and have active instructors throughout Canada and have since 1990. We did have an actual licenssee in Canada but decided that it was more economical and time effective for canadian members and divers  to include Canada with the US office in regard to training and issurance of certifications.

We request that you represent us (IANTD) in this urgent matter and we will provide any and all support or requested materials that are needed.

Please point out to the FQAS that IANTD provides diver training and certification ranging from Open Water Diver through mixed gas diving, cave diving, wreck diving, and rebreather diving and it was the first to offer nitrox and technical diving programs to the diving community.

In the standrds you will note that amoung our advisory board some of the most respected divers internationally are represented. It is these people who provide the foundation for our safer diving standrds and review these procedures annually.

Thank you very much for being willing to assist us in becoming recognized  in the new draft.

Respectfully

Tom Mount CEO IAND INC/IANTD
