Re: «ACT RESPECTING SAFETY IN SPORTS R.S.Q., c. S-3.1»
By-law respecting qualifications for recreational underwater diving
Mr. Baril:
I have just learned that our certifying agency named Technical Diving International (TDI) was not recognized by the law and regulations which will be adopted soon in the province of Quebec.
Two years ago, we received a draft proposal of the law. At that time, the FQAS requested that we send our standards and procedures to them, which we did. Our standards and procedures have been on TDI’s web site for at least four years. Unfortunately, we did not hear back or receive any correspondence from the FQAS since.
Technical Diving International has 19 regional offices world wide making it one of the largest technical diving agency in the world.
Mr. Baril, why is it that we are recognized worldwide and not in Quebec? If there is anything that I can do to help you rectify this anomaly, please let me know.
Yours truly,
Chester Morrison
